The existing Membership Qualifications as per Byelaws of the Institution are given hereunder for guidance & information of Members. Desirous Members presently in the Grades of “Graduate”, “Associate Member” & “Member” can avail the facility of upgradation to higher grade as per eligibility criteria by submitting applications on prescribed form which can be obtained from Institution’s office or downloaded from our website: www.ifeindia.org and payment of prescribed fee of Rs. 5000/- (Rupees Five Thousand only).
MEMBERSHIP QUALIFICATION
Fellow
The Council shall have the power, on application to the Council in the prescribed form, to transfer into the class of Fellow a Member who, to the satisfaction of the Council, possesses the following qualifications: -
Is at least 45 years of age.
Is a Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers (India) or (U.K.) of five years standing
Has been actively engaged in the Fire Services or Field of Fire Engineering for at least 5 years
Has held senior supervisory position in a Fire Service Organization for at least five years.
OR
Has proved his competence in the field of Fire Engineering and made a worth while contribution in furtherance of the Aims and objects of the Institution.”
Member
The Council shall have the power, on application to the Council in prescribed form, to transfer into the class of “Member” an Associate or Graduate Member who, to the satisfaction of the Council, possesses the following qualifications: -
Has passed the Membership Examination of the Institution of Fire Engineers India) or (UK).
OR
Has passed Bachelor of Fire Engineering Examination from and recognized University.
And
Has been actively engaged in the profession of Fire Engineering, Fire Fighting or Fire Protection for not less than five years.
OR
Has been an Associate Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers (India) for not less than five years.
AND
Has been actively engaged in the profession of Fire Engineering, Fire Fighting or Fire Protection work for at least five years.
Associate Member
The Council shall have the power, on application to the Council in prescribed form, to transfer into the class of Associate Member of the Institution who, to the satisfaction of the Council, possesses the following qualifications: -
Has passed the Divisional Officers course (advance Diploma) from National Fire Service College – Nagpur and is a Graduate Member or IFE (India) continuously for five years
OR
Has passed the Graduateship Examination of the IFE (India) and is Graduate Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers (India) continuously for five years/
AND
(For both paras above) – has held a post not less than a Div. Officer or Head/Dy. Head of a large Industrial/city/state/central govt. (including undertaking) fire services organization or equivalent post.
